The short version

Owed keeps your ledger on your iPhone. Only when you share a nudge link do we store the few details your friend needs to see, and we delete them automatically.

Who is responsible

Owed is run as a sole proprietorship under the name owedpay.net. Owed (owedpay.net), a sole proprietorship is the controller for the data described here. Contact: support@owedpay.net.

What stays on your device

Your IOUs, names, phone numbers you pick from Contacts, notes, receipts and history are stored on your iPhone. If you turn on iCloud sync, Apple stores them in your private iCloud database; we can't read it.

What a nudge link stores

We use this only to show the page and send your notifications (legal basis: performing the service you asked for, GDPR article 6(1)(b), and our legitimate interest in preventing abuse, article 6(1)(f)).

What we don't do

No accounts, no ads, no tracking, no selling data. Owed never sees bank details and doesn't move money; payment links open your bank or Tikkie.

How long

A link is deleted 30 days after the IOU is settled, straight away when you withdraw it, and otherwise 180 days after its last change.

Processors

Cloudflare hosts the link service (EU data handling under its data processing addendum). Apple delivers push notifications and, if you use it, iCloud sync.

Your rights

You can withdraw any link in the app, which deletes it, and Settings → Delete my data removes everything the link service holds for your phone at once. You can also ask us for access, correction or deletion at support@owedpay.net, and complain to the Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens.
